Meet the Team

Amicus Recruit was established in 2000. Ben Arnold now runs the company and is supported by an experienced team who share his principles and firm commitment to the profession. Every one of our employees takes real pride in their work, as well a genuine interest in the welfare of both locums and clients.

Ben Arnold, Managing Director

Ben founded Amicus Recruit in 2000. Ben has over 15 years recruitment experience in the health and social care sector.

He is personally committed to raising the standards of social work recruitment, and to the investment in the professional development of qualified social workers. Furthermore, Ben is committed to the facilitation of planned use by Local Authorities of an expert, flexible, temporary workforce. Ben also holds the position of ASWEB Chair 2010 / 2011, and is also Vice Chair of Skills for Care - London Planning Group 2008 to date.



Carli Yates, Recruitment Team Leader

Carli's background is in recruitment and sales, as well as 8 years working for the Department of Work and Pensions, where she worked closely alongside social services.

Her previous interest and knowledge of the social care sector brought her to Amicus Recruit in 2007.

Initially employed as a Recruitment Consultant for two years, Carli is now pleased to be working as the Recruitment Team Leader.

Carli maintains a keen personal interest in all of her candidates' progress and development, and is extremely proud of, and confident in the recruitment team she supports.

She relishes the role of building great relationships with our clients and candidates alike, and strives to continue to secure the best opportunities for them, ensuring their needs are met to the highest standards.



Chanel Taylor, Company Administrator

Chanel Taylor joined Amicus Recruit in August 2009. Chanel has progressed her career within Amicus Recruit to become our Company Administrator. She is responsible, along with Samantha Hedges for achieving our high standards within compliance and safeguarding. She also liaises with our locums with regards to our training opportunities

Prior to joining Amicus Recruit, Chanel worked in the banking industry.



Andy Bailey, Accounts Manager

Andy joined Amicus Recruit in January 2002 as our Accounts Manager. Andy is responsible for the management accounts and the operational responsibilities of the accounts department.

Prior to joining Amicus Recruit, Andy worked for Hastings College also within an accounting role.



Cathy Ford, Finance Officer

Cathy joined Amicus Recruit in July 2003 and is mainly responsible for timesheet processing and payroll. Cathy is committed to providing efficient customer service to all locums, clients and colleagues.

Prior to joining Amicus Recruit, Cathy was a Client Manager for a leading factoring company.



Rachel Hales, Candidate Services Officer

Rachel joined Amicus Recruit as the Candidate Services Officer in October 2008. Rachel interviews locums and reviews their paperwork to make sure all locums are safeguarded appropriately, discusses role requirements, and provides CV writing support.

Rachel is an Australian social worker who had three years experience working in child protection prior to moving to the UK and joining the Amicus team.



Helen Gardner, Recruitment Consultant

Helen joined Amicus Recruit in September 2007 as a Recruitment Consultant. After her maternity leave, Helen returned to Amicus Recruit on a part time basis in October 2009.

Prior to joining Amicus Helen worked in HR for over 6 years within the NHS and Sussex Police.



Amy Gudgeon, Senior Recruitment Consultant

Amy was welcomed into Amicus Recruit in July 2009. Since then she has progressed to become an established member of the team and she enjoys the positive working environment.

Amy has continuously worked within a sales environment and has many transferable skills from her time within estate agency and business to business sales.



Heidi Cornwall, Company Administrator

Heidi joined Amicus in July 2003 as a Team Administrator. Heidi's dedication and knowledge of training and compliance allowed her to progress her career to Company Administrator.

Heidi left to go on maternity leave in December 2009, and will return in January 2011 on a part time basis to join the Compliance Team.



Alli Whitehouse, Recruitment Consultant

Alli is the newest addition to Amicus Recruit, having been initially recruited in to a support role.

She has brought a wide range of transferrable skills to the team, having joined us with a background in the finance and insurance sectors. Alli has a passion for creating a first class customer experience.



Samantha Hedges, Compliance Administrator

Samantha joined Amicus Recruit in January 2010 as an Administration Assistant. She has progressed to become the Compliance Administrator, working closely with Chanel Taylor in safeguarding our locums.

Prior to joining Amicus Recruit, Sam worked within the aerospace industry.
