Training and Continued Professional Development(CPD)
At Amicus Recruit we assist our locums to access funding for a wide range of training and learning opportunities - across all fields of social work relevant to the work they are undertaking.
Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL)
All registered social workers are aware of the need to complete PRTL to maintain their registration. Amicus Recruit is committed to supporting locums to access training opportunities whilst they are in post with us.
Amicus Recruit is dedicated to the career and skills progression of its locums and as such has an affiliated relationship with Bournemouth University.
This relationship enables us to provide a comprehensive calendar of training events, which will contribute to your Continued Professional Development (CPD) hours.
These courses include Best Interest Assessor and PQ Training and Consolidation.
Amicus Recruit also offers training courses in association with ASWEB. These include Court Skills Training and many more.
Our placed locums are eligible to receive an Amicus Recruit CPD portfolio (to maintain records of their professional development and to assist in demonstrating GSCC re-registration requirements).
Amicus Recruit works alongside SocialWork 2000 to offer both in-house training using a local provider, and also sources training from external bodies/organisations.

Career Development and Support
Caroline Routledge is our Candidate Relationship Manager. Her role within Amicus Recruit is to continue the support provided by the recruitment team in the office.
She is available to meet regularly with our placed locums to discuss anything from career development and training opportunities to any issues arising from their work.
She is able to provide one to one career coaching and advice as and when needed.
Caroline can meet you at a place and time convenient to you - coffee break, lunchtime or even after work. We would urge all locums working through us to make the most of the unique service that Caroline and Amicus Recruit provide.
These meetings also provide the opportunity for you to give us that all-important feedback about our service - helping us to make improvements for both locums and employers.
As part of this ongoing support to you, we also offer help and advice with CV writing and interview skills and techniques.
